February 2011 Moms

if you have a little girl....

I'm so jealous of the shopping you get to do.  Just about every place I go to has a minimal (yes! I'm talking to you, Target & CP Angry) boy selection and an overabundance of girl clothes.  It's just not right- boy clothes are baaaaaaaaa-ooooring, too!!  Mommies of boys, let's unite!  Share with me where you get your cute little dude clothes.

  • Gymboree and Crazy 8 are my favorites. I have a girl, but I see cute little guy clothes in there. Those and Old Navy :)
  • I like old navy, gap, crazy eights, and I get a lot of his cool rocker clothes from BRU (Amy Coe)

I am not a huge fan of target for boy clothes, there is not enough selection.

  • I'm with you! Every time I am out and I see something for DD, I have to force myself to find something for DS also. I was literally rummaging through racks at Target looking for something we didn't already have after I found the most adorable plaid shorts for DD!!
  • I go everywhere. Target, Kohls- they actually have a pretty good selection of boy clothes, Children's Place, Gymboree(clearance stuff) Crazy 8, Macys, Sears- sucks ass. JC Penney, Old Navy- but they run small like the Gap. Plus if I see something that I like that is not in DS's current size i will look to see if they have it in the size he will wear next year. I try to buy what i can a season ahead so when it gets to that season then there isn;t much that I will need to buy and pay regular price.

  • oooh I hear you on this!

I went to Macy's on the way home from work last night to try and find something cute for LO to wear for his 6 month photos we are having done tomorrow. TONS and TONS of adorable dresses for girls... maybe 4 outfits for boys... all plaid overalls with a polo shirt underneath.  Really.... designers can't come up with something else for our LOs?

  • Ok we get complimented on LO clothes all the time.  Everyone at church waits to see what I have him dresses in.  I get his clothes at osh kosh, carters, CHildrens PLace, and Kohls, My sister is a hugh shopper of burks and see find him cute stuff there cheap.  The childrens place look at the 6-9 mth stuff we found that some of that stuff runs very small.  LO easter vest came from there and we measured it to a 0-3 and there was very little difference same with the sweater vest.  He is in a 3 mth shirt and his sweater vest fits him good.  I have bought some from crazy 8 but they are a ways from us.  I love to find him hats to match his outfits and he always has on shoes.   There is so many ways to dress our little guys up.  I bought a tie patteren and make him velcro ties.

  • I hear ya!!!! I don't care for target. And cp, only when they get toddler ages. I have this thing about dressing my lo's in baby stuff. I like them to look like little men. I find alot of cute stuff at bru. I also get stuff at places like Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory and TJ Maxx, you have to pick through some of those stores though. I do also get some stuff, usually jeans, from old navy.

    Yes!  Great idea!  LOL

I've never heard of Crazy 8s...I'll have to Google.  I love Amy Coe, too!  BRU has far cuter clothes than BBB.  Thanks to all of you for the tips & I'm so glad it's not just me.

Crazy 8 is to Gymboree as Carters is to OshKosh. Made by the same company. There is a Crazy 8 store at the Neshaminy Mall (not sure where in Philly you are :)

  • I hear that all the time. "Oh you're so lucky to have a girl, you get to dress her up in all those cute clothes", etc. But you know what?! I like boy clothes better. Much better. I don't find pink and frilly interesting at all. I used to work in the Nordstrom Kids Wear Boys department. I love shopping for my nephew!
