Hi Ladies!
I have PCOS and really don't ovulate. You can see my history in my siggy. My RE wants to do IVF but we have to wait until January when I get new insurance with IVF coverage. We are currently 100% OOP. Until we can get the new coverage, we will continue with IUIs and hope that one of them works.
Which method gave you your BFP?
Also, while I am on my break cycle, my RE put me on BCP to settle my ovaries down. He hopes that I will have a better response to meds when I come off of the pill. Any thoughts on this? Next cycle we will do 100mg of Clomid CD3-7 and then 75IU Menopur cd8-10 with an IUI.
Thanks for your help!! ![]()
Re: PCOS - BFP with IUI or IVF?

I have PCOS and don't ovulate, too - DH has no issues. I tried Clomid and had no response. We've done Gonal-F and trigger plus TI for 4 cycles. Cycle 1 was canceled due to overstim, but we got a BFP anyway by accident (DD1 in my siggy). Cycle 2 was a BFP, but ended in a c/p. Cycle 3 was a BFN and Cycle 4 gave us the little one cooking in my belly

You can see in my siggy what we did...If I may suggest I would really request to use Femara instead of Clomid. I have heard of much better results with Femara (Not that Clomid won't work) just my suggestion.
I wish you all the best!
I have PCOS, but ovulate every month. We ultimately needed IVF to get our BFP. We did 3 rounds Femara/TI, then 3 inject/IUIs. I also have endo, so that contributed to my situation.
Good luck!
DX: PCO, ENDO, High NK, MTHFR
8/10 = Lap to remove Endo
2 Femara TI, 3 Follistim IUI = BFN & 1 c/p

1st IUI with injectibles worked for us (after trying clomid alone, femara alone, and injectibles alone, we moved on to pairing it with the IUI).
Good luck!

Our details are in the siggy, but it ultimately took IVF/FET for us to be successful. My challenge was it took so long and such high volume of drugs to ovulate, that IVF was really our only option to manage OHSS risks. We did multiple IUIs first, but I ultimately would do the IUI on CD28 or later -- which my RE things indicated that the eggs were of comparable quality.
Best of luck!
IUIs have been successful for me every time (however, I had issues after I became pg). After 3 IUIs, RE suggested I try IVF, however it didnt work for me. I ended up with c/p for the first attempt and then another one with the frozen transfer. RE said he doesn't think my body responds to IVF so they had me to go back to IUI and what do ya know, I got pg again and here I am 27 weeks! I don't really have any experience with the BCP so can't help ya there.
Good luck to you, hope to see you here soon!!!

We had PCOS, egg factor, and MFI but the only way we got our BFP was with IVF/ICSI.
Wishing you the best!
I also have PCOS and our RE wanted to do 3-4 cycles of stims/trigger/TI before moving on to IVF. We did only on TI cycle, then I asked if we could try an IUI. I'm happy I asked as that was our BFP. I don't think it hurts any to exhaust all of your options before moving on. GL!
Cycle 11 - Clomid 100mg + Follistim + hCg trigger + IUI= BFP!
