Re: Check in...

  • I guess I'll go first!

Here is a bump picture. It is starting to look more like a baby bump than a food bump. LOL

And here is another sonogram picture from last week, other than the one in my siggy:

  • Aw Erin you look great!

As for us, Annabelle has been wonderful. She is growing up so fast. She talks so much, is always saying something, pointing at something. Her personally is really coming out too. Last weekend she spent the night at my stepmom's house for the first time. Both of us did well (I was very nervous), but she seem to fine when I went to pick her up. She was very clingy, but that's quite okay with me. She's also learning to walk down the steps. My little girl is really growing up. I really miss the little baby she was.

This is my bump from 2 weeks ago at the beach.  It's not nearly as cute in shape as I imagined it would be, but at least you can tell I'm pg now!  Last week my H started to finally feel her move definitively.  It's so fun that he gets to share in it now.  It's cute when he gets excited about it.

  • I spent the night away from LO this past weekend at my husband's insisting. He all but forced me out the door to head down the beach with my mom and sister for our annual girls weekend. Well, I came home to Jackson's nursery finally being put together! Since he arrived early a lot of things we had planned got pushed to the side, including a nursery since we knew he'd be staying in our room. DH enlisted the help of my in-laws and cleaned, organized and best of all hand-painted a mural. I cried when I saw itHmm

  • Jen - love the siggy of A!  She is so cute. :)

Jade and Ras - you both look great!  Jade, I remember being SOOOOO happy to finally get past the "fat or pregnant?" stage w/ DS.  Ras, your bump will change shape so many times as LO shifts around in there... just wait for when LO decides to cuddle up on one side and the other half of your bump is much smaller.  It's hilarious to watch it change constantly!

BillysGrl - that is so, so, so sweet of your H!!!  I would've totally cried, too.

For myself - DS is tentatively walking (but prefers to crawl b/c he's so much faster that way) and has started tossing out some recognizable words and pointing when he says them - "doggie" was first (on his birthday, no less!), and "teddy" has followed this week.  "Teddy" seems kinda random as an early word for him, esp. b/c he doesn't have any real attachment to a teddy, nor does he play w/ his stuffed animals very much, but he definitely knows what they are and will tell you repeatedly and very emphatically point at them when he sees them.  He also goes crazy when he sees any dogs and starts shouting "doggie!" over and over while pointing at them.

He is proving to be a real water baby, too, and is in love w/the pool - both the "big" pool and his little baby pool in the backyard.  He's also obsessed w/ putting things in boxes and taking them back out, so odds are good that if you can't find something, it's likely in a box that he could reach. :)

    Here's one from his birthday:

  • Love the updates!

Jen- I know exactly what you mean about them growing up so fast. Collin just seems to understand so much more lately. This morning he was sorting things by color- it took me a while to realize he was even doing it. By tonight my mom would put a block of the wrong color with the others and he would shake his head no, pick it up and put it with the right ones. Crazy!

He's also so sweet. The other night he climbed up on the couch, sat up and patted next to him because he wanted me to come sit with him. I sat down and he grabbed on to snuggle. So sweet!

    18 months has flown by!

  • John is such a little boy, he LOVES trucks, especially firetrucks (which makes his retired firefighter grandpop and uncle firefighter very very happy), loves to play with my iPad and the aps I've downloaded for him.  He's been talking so much, and recently started using short phrases.  He loves to eat, I feel like he is constantly eating/snacking, but thankfully has his dad's metabolism and barely gains any weight.  It's so fun, but bittersweet to watch him grow up

  • Caelan is 7 weeks old today! He's smiling now and being much more active. He's starting to be a real person, lol. He's also been STTN for the past week or so which is awesome! If only he'd nap some during the day too I'd be set!

  • Sean started trying to put sentences together! I'm so proud of him. He'll say "where's this go, Dada?" or "Bless you, Mama" when I sneeze. He knows all his colors, all his shapes (even oval and zigzags), and I am constantly blown away by how smart he is and how he picks things up after only telling him once {mommy brag post!}

Baby related, I am feeling pretty good, getting kicked a LOT :) I have an OB appointment tomorrow and I am kind of dreading getting weighed....I feel like I have gained a lot of weight these last few weeks. And also annoying, I have already outgrown some of the maternity clothes I purchased early in pregnancy Angry Ugh, I really don't want to buy more; I so many other things I need to spend $ on.

Finally, I am super excited b/c my best friend, who is due like 6 weeks after me, found out this morning she is having a little girl, so now I get to satisfy my urge to buy cute girly stuff.

  • 34 weeks today!

    image

The Cheat is doing really well!!  At my last appointment I was measuring slightly ahead and based on how tall DH is, I think this baby is going to be pretty big. The Cheat does need to get his/her act together and get head down.  S/he has been breech almost the entire pregnancy and has a new favorite position of transverse which causes ridiculous contractions.

Other than that I feel great.  I will admit in June the heat did bother me quite a bit but I'm actually used to it now.  Yes, it's hot, but it's hot whether or not you're pregnant.  I'm just spending a LOT of time indoors.

  • No picture, I really need to unload my camera!

Mallory had her 2 month appointment today (on her two month birthday) and is a hefty 10lbs 14.5oz and 23 3/4 inches long. She eats like a pig but thankfully isn't gaining weight too fast. She's been smiling for a few weeks now and is sleeping for 6 hours a night. We've almost completed one full week of sleeping in the crib!

  • It's great to read the checkin's from home since I can see the pictures which are all great!

Things are crazy in my household and I hope they settle down soon. Faith wants to nurse a lot which leaves me feeling really guilty because I can't give Ava the attention that I want to. I need to reach out to other mom's who have two little ones to see how they have dealt with these feelings.

Faith (or Faithy as Ava calls her) is doing great-she was two pounds over her birth weight at five days old which makes me estatic.  A little funny story: we hadn't really prepared Ava for the bf-ing part so when I came home, I just started nursing and Ava was on the bed with DH and I.  She asked what I was doing and we told her mommy's make milk for their babies and Faith was eating.  She crawled over to my other side and tugged on my shirt. When asked what I was doing, she responded "I drink a boob."  DH and I started laughing so then she starting singing a song.."I drink a boob...I drink a boob."

DH goes back to work on Friday and I am dreading it.

  • I love reading all the LO updates. Bunnintheoven - DH got DD the EXACT same onesie. I love i!t DD is getting bigger and even more interactive. She is just starting to notice the dogs. She watches everything and loves to smile at us. She can roll over, but usually chooses not to do so. However, she rolled over on her tummy on Tuesday at like 4am and was trying to crawl. She HATES sitting up and cries when we put her in the bumboo. Btu she will stand when we hold her upright. She can stand when I just hold her by the hips.  She has a 6 month appointment on Monday.

  • Sydney finally, FINALLY started walking about two weeks ago. I knew she wouldn't be an early walker because she crawled pretty late and is such a large child (24 months or 2T sized clothes at 14 months) and honestly I didn't really expect it for another few weeks. Bonus - DH and I were both home to see her take her first steps.

We went on vacation last week to the Outer Banks and she did not love the beach like I hoped she would. The first day, all she would do was sit in a chair in the sand. The next day, she played in the sand (and ate it), the 3rd day we got her in the baby pool that was filled with ocean water and then finally on our last day at the beach we got her to be on my lap, at the very edge of the ocean where the waves lap up over you, and she wasn't screaming.

We definitely plan to vacation to OBX again (this was our first time) so one of these years I hope she grows to love the ocean. We also took her to the aquarium and she loved that.

My favorite photo from the trip (we went with our friends who have a daughter 7 weeks older than Sydney):

  • Aiden continues to amaze me with how well he's transitioned to having a little sister.  He now is self-sufficient in the morning.  Once I get him up (he still won't get out of bed without us getting him, which is awesome) he will go to the bathroom, brush his teeth, get changed, and make his bed.  So so awesome.  Having him be this independent is great, especially if I'm feeding Claire when he wakes up. And he's been dry at night for the past month, which is SUPER awesome.  He's very helpful with Claire and loves her so much!

Claire is simply amazing.  I love her so much, and time is passing way too quickly.  I go back to work in five weeks, and I'm dreading it.  I'm trying to enjoy every second with her, and it just keeps flying by.  She's sleeping 6-8 hour stretches at night, gaining weight nicely, and smiling and cooing her days away.  Pure heaven

  • I have never put a picture in, but I would like to introduce us...can anyone help with directions? TIA
  • It's pretty simple. You must have a pictures uploaded to photobucket or shutterfly. You want to right click on that picture, view image info, then copy the long link sometimes it says Location. Then come to the bump, click on reply, click on the tree (next to the smiley face), paste the link in image url.

    Hopefully that helps.

  • DD is into everything! EVERYTHING! Non stop all the time.  I think we are getting some eye teeth bc it's been pretty whiney in our residence.  Overall still a happy baby though.

14 mo and wearing 24mo/2t clothing

    "talking" up a storm

Giving tons of "love" (which is hugs)

    Walking since 11/12mos

    LOVES shoes

Sits on everything (even a dollhouse teacup, she turned over and tried to back up and sit on it)

    Very independent

    Rotten
