Can you share your journey a bit with me?
I had a dermoid tumor in 2009 that cut off the blood supply to my right ovary. It was removed along with the tumor.
My RE believes that I'm now showing signs of early menopause (I'm 30). I also have PCOS. I've recently went off b.c. once I found all of this out. I thought I had more time before I was diagnosed, and now my RE says she is concerned that it's too late.
So, wondering if anyone else was in my shoes, so to speak.
I'm not sensitive to siggy's or anything, so post away.
Re: Anybody here with PCOS and 1 ovary with success?
ok well i meet most of your criteria. I have PCOS, 1 ovary, no tubes, and a unicornate uterus (1/2 uterus). We did IVF in June 2008. That fresh IVF ended in a BFN but we had 11 frozen embies. We did a FET in Sept. 2008 which was a BFP cycle. My DS is just over 2 years old.
You might want to post this on Success after IF as well. There are lots of moms with PCOS and other issues like yours.
Thank you both.
mrsolsen - I didn't even realize there was a success after IF as well. I will post there too.
Thanks again.
HRP22,
I had dermoids on both my ovaries that unfortunately cut off blood flow to both my ovaries. I lost the one and the other is just barely functioning. I was not able to conceive using my own eggs. I ended up using DE and have one daughter and a sibling on the way. This was considered successful for me being that I thought I would never have children at all! Best of luck to you!
Since you have one that is barely functioning, are you also showing signs of perimenopause? (I don't think you would while pregnant, but maybe in between)
Beyond fertility issues, what other symtpoms did you see when you were "perimenopausal". Also, from the time that your remaining ovary began to fail, how long did it take for you to get into menopause?
