We started at 8 weeks with 4.5oz in each bottle and they were feeding him every 3 hours. I upped it gradually when it seemed like he needed more. At 3.5 months, he is taking 5 oz, 6 oz, then 5 oz for his three day care feedings.
I sent Molly with 8 bags of frozen milk. Each bag had 2-3 ounces. I also sent her with a 5 ounce bottle of fresh milk. I don't know about your daycare, but ours keeps the frozen bags in a huge freezer and uses them as needed. It's been two weeks and she is averaging 8-12 ounces in a 9 hour day. She is 14 weeks today.
I send four empty bottles and a large 28 oz water bottle with all her BM in that. I usually send about 16-20 oz of BM. This way, they can portion out how much she needs in smaller amounts in case she doesn't always want to take a full four ounces in one feeding or in case she wants more. If she ever has any left over, we just use it that night once she gets home because what we send is typically frozen and thawed that morning and would just go to waste if we diidn't use it.
LO usually eats 2, 5 oz bottles during the day. I go over lunch to feed him, so that's his third meal. We always include an extra bottle, just in case, and they have 4, 5 oz packages of frozen BM as well.

I send three 4 oz bottles of BM on average. she will eat between 8 and 12 oz during the day..
I prepare the bottles (defrost the milk the night before and make the bottles) and take them in my little cooler. We share a nanny so it's not exactly daycare, but I drop her off at my bosses house (where the nanny goes). My boss and I use different bottles so the nanny knows which is which so I don't have to label them.
I send 3 4oz frozen packs of BM - labeled with her initials & the date (state standards). She can either go through 2 of the 4oz packs or all 3 depending on when she gets to daycare - gets picked up, etc.
I also take three empty bottles with her initials on them. If she doesn't have all 3 packs - they put it in their big freezer for another day.
Re: Daycare and breastmilk
to be honest, i started giving bottles about a week ago to prepare and find out how much i would need to send.... all babies are different.
He ate twice yesterday in the 4 hours he was there, both were 4 1/2 oz.
