Only 14 posts from bronze!

I'm finally almost to bronze - my goodness it's taken me long enough.  So if anyone wants to help me out and ask me some questions I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Tell us your favorite thing about each child in a separate post (I think you have 5, right?)

I think you can tell because X number of posts = bronze, silver, etc.

Not that I could tell you what number of post equals each color though!

I think bronze is 501 and silver is 2001.

  • Dream vacation??   I think I would love to go to Europe.  My Grandma has been there many times.  A lot of my ancestors are from there, and she is way into genealology.  I think it would be awesome.

  • Favorite holiday - Probably Thanksgiving - there's not the stress of presents involved and there is really good food!

  • Favorite book - Harry Potter Series, LIttle Women and most anything by Lori Wick.  Also love Karen Kingsbury.  I guess I don't have a favorite - I love to read.

  • Favorite TV show - I used to love Gilmore Girls.  Haven't had TV (we have one to watch movies only) for the last 2 years.

  • Family tradition I would love to carry on - Growing up we would have the neighbor kids (kids who lived on our street) come and play kickball Sunday evenings.  It was a big thing.  Would love to do that with my kids as they grow up.  The neighbor kids who used to come still talk about it when I see them now all these years later.  We'd have races, play wiffle ball, kickball, etc.  It was so much fun.

  • DH and I have been together for 13 years!  Can't believe it. We've been married for almost 12 - (our anniversary is in 2 weeks).

  • Lunch - left over homemade macaroni and cheese

Supper - McDonald's with MIL and FIL.  She wanted to get the kids Happy Meals - she thinks they are deprived since we don't eat out more than once or twice a month (mostly take-in pizza).

  • How often on TB - check in most days - mostly lurk obviously

My DH has facebook - I don't have an account for me

    Definitely prefer TB

  • Rarely text - maybe 3 or 4 times a month.  Not sure what the last thing I texted was.

  • My oldest daughter - she is kind, sweet, a huge help to me, smart, shy, beautiful.  She is a great little girl.  Love watching her grow up.

  • My 2nd daughter is over the top.  She is independent, smart, athletic, beautiful, fearless.  She loves to have things her way or no way.  She is definitely a leader and most kids seem to love her.

  • My oldest son (3rd child) is all boy.  He loves tractors, trucks - if it has a motor he loves it.  He is laid back, extremely smart - love the way his mind thinks.  He questions everything.  He adds so much to our family.

  • My 3rd daughter (4th child) is a sweetheart.  She loves her mommy and always wants to be around me and help me out.  She is a little spoiled honestly - the older kids and I definitely gave her lots of attention.  She loves to be read to.  She plays really well by herself.  I'm excited to see the person she becomes - she is definitely getting quite the personality as she is getting older.

  • Last but not least - my 2nd son and 5th child is so far laid back and loves to watch the rest of the kids.  So glad I had him - I really wasn't happy when I got pregnant with a 5th child.  I always wanted 4 and was pretty happy with 4.  Now 5 is perfect.

  • 1.  Handling 5 schedules - Oh my gosh - I am really dreading when all the kids are in school - I have no idea how I'm going to keep up with gym day, library day, field trips, etc..  I write down my schedule each week for each day and have a pretty good routine.  However, it gets really hectic.

  • 2.  Advice for 1st time moms - It's rough with your first child.  Don't beat yourself up.  Do the best you can and ask questions if you aren't sure about something (TB is great for that).  Enjoy them as much as they can - they grow up so fast.

  • 3.  Wish I had known tips - I wish I had known how much help an exersaucer could be.  My sister let me borrow hers when I had Isaac - it would have been handy with all the kids.

Also wish I would have known about cloth diapers when I had my first - I had always heard horror stories about cloth diapers.  Now that I've been on the TB I wish I would have tried them - I'm kind of set in my ways now with Isaac being the last baby.  So I still use disposables - but I wish I would have tried cloth (I know it's not too late but I guess I'm lazy!)

  • Hey I made it to bronze - Thanks so much!  3 more questions to answer

     4.  Material thing that makes life easier - Swing (especially early on), and love the  exersaucer.

    5.  Non material thing - Patience (which you always need more of), humor and knowing when to let things go (still working on this as well).

    6.  What I would have done differently - Listen up ladies!  No seriously I wish I would have made some more "me" time when I had the first 2 kids.  When I had my 3rd I told my husband - I need more help and he's really stepped it up.  With the first 2 I didn't make time for myself to exercise or read or do things that I wanted to do.  I felt like I had to sacrifice everything for my kids which just drained me and made me unhappy.  With the 3rd child on I've done a lot better realizing I can only give so much and that's okay.  I'm much happier when I have time for me.  The kids are my top priority still which I think is important, but I'm important too.
