Pregnant after IF

Good resources on GD (esp for DH)?

Even though I passed the 1 hour GTT @ 16 weeks, I failed it @ 28 weeks ( cut-off was 130 & my level was 154). So, I have to now take the 3 hour one Sad Needless to say, DH is ALL over my case about my diet. Even though I have ONLY gained 8 lbs this entire pregnancy, he thinks I only failed it b/c of my food choices.

So, what are some good resources, in general, and also what can I show him that can make him realize it's not totally diet related & that even some healthy people end up with GD? I could see if I gained a ton of weight thus far him being on my case but seriously?  An 8 lb gain doesn't really mean that I've been eating all that bad. Also, my Grandmother is a diabetic as is one of my cousins. He seems to be dismissing the fact that it makes my risk higher.

  • If you fail the 3 hr, they will have you meet with a Nutritionist. My H went with me and it was an eye opener for him. However, my Peri even told us that your food choices are NOT what causes GD, the placenta does. So hearing that from my Peri, I think my H already knew that it was completely out of my control.

Also, while doing some searching for recipes for GD, I came across this link from the American Diabetes Association. It tells you exactly why women get GD. Maybe have him read this link and he'll get off your ass.

Hopefully, he'll start supporting you and stop harping on you. GL with the 3 hr! ((hugs))

Thank you so much for the link ! We already knew I had placenta issues due to a low PAPP-A (which they said the placenta may stop working/not work properly in the 3rd Tri) so I'm not entirely surprised if the GD is something else, now, with the faulty placenta.
