DW have been talking about when and if we will have another baby. Being that we used DS, we have to decide quite fast and buy more vials sooner then later.
Anyone else thinking about having only this one ( or just this pregnancy with those of you pregnant with more than 1)
Why or why not?
Re: Having only one child?
We've decided not to pursue any more fresh cycles. Unless one of our 3 remaining frozen or a miracle happens, we'll only have 1 child. The toll of the fresh cycle on my body was too much (I dodged serious OHSS complications twice and fear 3x will be pressing my luck) for us to chance it again. We were OOP for our IVFcycles (and now have college tuition to save for), so we don't have the funds available for adoption.
It was a hard decision, but one that we've both "come to peace" with.
As of right now, I'm on the fence about it. But - I guess we've made out decision by DH having a few vials of sperm frozen so that he can move forward with testosterone replacement therapy - which is known to make counts plummet - but he really needs to do it for other health reasons. He's been putting it off for so long and I didn't want him to any longer.
SO - we've got 2 frozen embies and a couple vials of sperm - so I guess that will most likely be the extent of any additional treatments we seek after this pregnancy.

I don't believe that God ever tells us "no". he has three options. Yes, not right now, or I have something better in mind. We just have to wait & see.
We're planning to play it by ear. I want to see how things go with this first baby and just enjoy her. Then we'll see how finances are and how complete/incomplete our family feels before deciding on more kids. Ultimately we think we'd like 2-3, but I want to just enjoy our daughter first and go from there.
If I were you and had to think about this sooner than later, and it were important to me that siblings be from the same donor, then I would much rather spend the money and store the sperm just in case than run into issues later with that donor being sold out.
