It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

  • While i agree that some dr.s are doing c-sections just because not everyone does. My ds was delivered at 36 weeks via un-planned c-section because my water broke and my ds was stuck in my pelvic bone. A sectiom was necessary. I just wanted to share this so that people understand that a section is sometimes necesssry not just because.

  • Thanks for sharing hon.  I actually didn't realize that the rate was still going up, given the backlash against elective C's.  But when you look at the long list of reasons why, I guess it makes sense.  Thinking of you, as always. :)

    Same here, DD was in serious distress and was breech, there just wasn't time for anything else. I'm glad I had my C-section, but I'm hoping for a VBAC this time.

    I'm also wondering if this article takes into account just primary C-sections or all of them...if so, subsequent C-sections is probably boosting the number a bit, too, with the number of doctors/hospitals who prefer no VBACs increasing.
