Before I was pregnant I ran a lot and want to get back into a rhythm with things...my doctor who I connect with online
(here) said that I need to wait about 4 weeks. But another doctor said that after a c-section I need to wait at least 6 weeks...how soon did you guys start- I don't want to hurt my body but I think my stress level will decrease. thoughts?
Re: intense exercise after birth
I was told to wait with 'any' exercise at least 2-3 months. We didn't discuss 'intense' exercise, but I was told it takes the 'inside' scar - the scar on the uterus - at least 6 months to heal, so if I were you, I'd wait with intense exercise for the 6 month mark. When you reach 2 months, you can start doing some stretching and light exercise and very slowly build up from there? The more easy you'll take it on your body, the faster it will heal. C-section is a MAJOR abdominal surgery, which is something many often forget ... I'm nearly 4 months post partum and only now beginning to feel sort of 'normal' again. I also had a c-section.
Good luck and take it easy on yourself - no lifting, avoid stairs, it's very important for you to give your body time to recuperate.
This is spam, btw. Someone is posting on most boards to try to get people to the link.
I didn't have a c-section and I was a marathoner before getting pregnant. I started jogging again at 4 weeks and ran a 1/2 marathon 13 weeks pp, with my doctors approval.
