I would get DH to hand him to me naked, while I was holding a handtowel for him to lay on. He's less slippery that way. Then I stand with my back towards the water, he gets little drops on him, I have a washcloth on the ready with baby shampoo on it and wash him down. Hand him back out to DH who is ready with his dry towel and he gets him dressed. It was wonderful, as DS HATED baths at first.
The handtowel is key for a non-slippery baby. It get sopping wet, but who cares, you don't risk dropping LO as much.

You have to do it with a partner...I get in and get the water right, then get warm from the water and the wash cloth soapy. Then DH hands her to me, I wash/rinse her while he gets her diaper/jammies ready. I hand her back to DH and help him wrap her in her hooded towel. He takes her to her room to dry off and get dressed while I take my shower. Then one of us feeds and cuddles with her to keep her warm.
The idea of the hand towel is good, babies are slippery. Just be careful! I do let the water hit her from the shower head, but it is a gentile flow. Use caution with this, baby's skin is sensitive.
The first couple times DH would shower first, then I would bring DS to him naked. He would wash him and then yell for me to come and get him and finish the routine. Well now I am back to work and leave home at 6pm, so DH does the showers all.by.himself We have Puj baby tub that DH lays on the bath tub floor so he can shower as well.

I did when I visited my parents. I had DH's help the first time, but he went home a few days before me so I brought the changing pad into the bathroom and laid LO on the pad next to the shower in a diaper and blanket. I did my showering and he was very content the whole time. When I was ready to shower him, I just reached out, took of his diaper and brought him in. He loves baths and really didn't like the shower, so my sister finally remembered to bring over her old baby bath the next day. Using the kitchen sink probably would have been easier than showering with him without DH's help. Babysteals has had a shower sling (waterproof ring sling) recently.

This is what we do except H does the showering and I do the drying/lotioning/dressing.

We do a "family shower" at least a couple times a week. DS enjoys it a lot more than a bath and we use less water!!
But occasionally I have showered with DS alone and it's just a matter of being aware of what DS is doing. Haven't dropped him yet. (knock on wood)
