they took her back at 7:30. Gave her something red to deink which she almost puked up a couple of times. This sucks it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Signing a paper that says coma and death isn't ideal with a 20 month old. I just hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Re: Peyton is in surgery
Bronx Zoo: Summer 2013
To read my blog, click on the giraffe pic below!
Don't have a whole lot of time, just wanted to pop in & say that everything seems to have gone well. She didn't have any reflexes/responses so I was kind of worried but once her ativan wore off they seemed to be semi-normal. We are having to lay in the crib with her to keep her down.
They didn't listen to me & didn't have anything ready to calm her down with so apparently she was sitting/standing right after surgery.
Things that have irked me:
-the people in the hospitality hotel who think i'm supposed to know whats there food vs donated food when they don't mark their *** or clean up after themselves (i'm talking FIVE dirty old pots/pans on the stove!). People who 'break rules' annoy me. They weren't even supposed to be in the pediatric kitchen! They were pissed Peyton took an icepop yesterday, seriously.
-the receptionist at the peri-surgical unit thinking i'm going to wait 30 more minutes for a room # when the surgeon told me where they were taking my kid & to be there.
-the nurses who didn't assume she would need morphine right away...i'm fairly certain she's in pain what with the giant opening down her back & all.
I am fairly surprised at the length of her incision, it's not as long as we originally thought it would be. I keep getting lost in the hospital & I never knew just how far a 4 block walk was!
I guess that's all for now..Thanks for your prayers.
(I assume we won't know bladder/bowel wise hows she's doing for a little while, she hasn't peed since surgery was over, but they said she did pee during)
I hope that everything goes very, very smoothly and well, and that she's back in your arms soon!
Keep us updated!
