Per this thread, we're hoping to condense a lot of the "gawker" threads into one! We thought this would make them more fun to browse and the board an easier read. We'll start a new thread every day to keep the list fresh.
Anyone is welcome to add to the post--local hospital names, the awful name you over heard at the park, Facebook horrors, and anything else that might give us a good chuckle! Feel free to comment, too.
Re: Post your facebook, hospital & other name horrors here
I love reading these and I've always wanted to contribute as I work at a place that does uniform and coverall rentals. I always see weird names, look them up on behindthename.com to see if they are legit, and I can never find them.
These are all guys, the girl names I have seen haven't been odd at all.
Koree (Just a mispelling of the name Corey)
Chilli
Durrant
Ophus
Nutch
Sjimen (Which I think is pronounced Simon)
I live in a small redneck city in Northern BC, and most of these guys work at the Kal Tires!
Symphony Hall.
I work at a school with a ton of odd names. I kinda like this one, but it's so way outta the norm.
I use to work with a lady who named her child Wendy Gail. Her husband was a huge meteorology buff.
Speaking of foster kid names, a family I was friends with when I lived in Oklahoma had a foster child named Serious Lee...seriously. The kid's biological mother was cracked out to the max. When she completed rehab and stayed clean, she was able to regain custody of the little girl, and she changed her name "to represent a new beginning" in their lives.
The name she chose? Wait for it...
Nevaeh. ::facepalm::
I knew a girl dog named Sincere once...
My sister was at the park with her son James... She was calling to him and another lady at the park with her son approached her and said "That's my son's name too, except we spell if differently." My sister says, "I didn't realize there was another way to spell James," and lady replies "JAYMZ".
Really? That's going to look awesome on a resume someday...
the chick on the show House, who gets called 13 her name on the show is Remy
I just saw a baby announcement for:
Clowie Elijah
I'm so confused...
I love the name Remy. It's classic French name.
I've recently seen Abbigale Alexsis
and the sib-set D?Juan and Ta?Cori
I have some good ones since my hospital just posted an update:
Brityn (f)
Ju'lyon (m) - now, I am a champion of Julian for a boy. I really like it. BUT spell it correctly, and the extra apostrophe seems a bit unnecessary.
Madden (m) - I don't love this name, but normally I wouldn't even include it except for the fact it is 100 times better than this poor child's mother's name - Breawn.
I'm not sure if anyone has posted about this yet, but if you want to see 1000s of gems, take a look at the Gerber Generation Photo Search entries.

Here are a few I found: Kaedyn, Jaedon, Allexus, Keelee, Evanee, Kashton, Gwenivier, Ayva, Kaleesta, Braedyn, McKesdon, Naveah, Bralynne... The names/spellings are not my style, but the kids are adorable!
Just helped DH type a document for school, and saw that a couple of his classmates are
ReDonda
and
Vianda
I assume they're both female. ReDonda sounds like "redundant" to me.
Too funny that is what my grandma wanted to name my mom. Thank God my grandfather talked her out of that!
I just found a few . . very interesting ones from the Gerber site
Makaylynne (She is going to hate her name when older!)
Lycan (makes me think of the Underworld movies)
