Baby loves the swing, I guess...

I feel like he's spending too much time in his swing. I know I should take the "happy baby" moments where I can get them, but I feel like it's going to make his back permanently swing-shaped or something. He already sleeps in it at night (got the ok from pedi). If I take him out of it he fusses, cries, and screams. He's not wet, he's not hungry, he's not gassy. I put him in and he's alert and smiling and interactive with me. But then I feel like if he's that awake, he shouldn't be in his swing. I want to work on tummy time and hold him and walk him around the house. What to do??

My son loves his swing and for the most part will only sleep in it.  I feel your pain.

  • only place I can get LO to nap during the day...oh well at least I can get a few things done. People keep telling me its a stage some babies go through...here's hoping...

  • My son loves his swing too. He takes naps in it and I let him fall asleep in his swing before I put him in his crib at night. I'm concerned he's only going to know how to fall asleep in motion. I read that after he falls asleep to turn the swing off. Sometimes he wakes up right away and sometimes it works. If he does wake up i turn it back on and he falls back asleep. Trying turning off and see what your baby does.
