EF shower curtain liner?

Yep, it is me again-- looking for recs on a safer shower liner. We just opened one that we had stored away to replace a gross one, but it sure reaks of plastic!

I don't wany something cotton or that will wick water. If you can point me in the direction of a safer liner I'd really appreciate it!

Re: EF shower curtain liner?

  • Good question. I have no answers but am hoping you'll get some. I have seen some in stores that say they are EF, but they were still plastic. Hoping there is something else out there.

The non-plastic ones never worked well for us and got grody quickly. We now use a non-PVC phalate-free one. It didn't smell when we opened the package, but I let it air on the clothes line to off-gas, just in case.

  • I got a fabric one at Target last summer.  We haven't had any issues with wicking or leaking, and when it needs to be cleaned, I put it in the wash machine on hot with some vinegar and a little detergent.  The plastic ones that say eco friendly are still supposedly free of the harmful stuff, so it should still be better than the regular ones.
