Question about PP period

I know this may be a stupid question, but can you use tampons for your first PP period? Mine just started today and I tried using a tampon and it hurt like crazy. I don't know though if it's because of my 3rd degree tear or if there's some unspoken rule about using tampons this early (2 months PP).

My OB said tampons were fine, but if you're concerned, you might want to check with your OB!

As long as it's after the 6 week marker they are fine to use!

i used them and the first time i thought i was going to die. i was afraid to take it out, pee, everything. but by a day or two it was fine.
