I'm posting from Seattle Childrens. Today was LO's surgery to repair his inguinal hernia. Even though this is usually an outpatient procedure, they are keeping LO overnight because he was a preemie.
The surgery went well, although I can't help but marvel at how I let a man who I've met exactly one time cut my child open (but the incision is only 1/4"!!). LO has been a champ through the whole thing. He had to go from 5:30 am to 2 pm between feeding, which SUCKED, but it's okay now.
The Nurse Tech watched LO while DH and I went to the cafeteria for dinner, and when I came back he was sleeping peacefully in a Fisher Price Cradle 'n Swing thingybob. I wish that Nurse Tech would come to my house to cover dinner every night!
You should see how the staff is confused by my CDs. They think they are awesome, but are a little confused ("oh no! he pooped in it!"...um...that's the point). I'm just babbling a bit now, but I wanted to tell you guys! DH and I will be spending the night on a nifty pull out hideabed in his room (which we are sharing with a little girl who had pins put into her hip today! She's tops a year old, poor thing. Anyhow, happy sleeping in your own beds!
Re: Surgery Today
I'm glad that he did so well, and I hope he recovers quickly. And I hope the same for his roommate, poor little girl
I'm glad that he is doing well!
We have been at Seattle Children's once a week for the last month. I'm so ready for Edmund's surgeries to be over already. The doctors there have truly been awesome!
Mac and cheese lover!
