dry chapped skin?

DD had such perfect skin when she was born now the skin on her face is dry and flaky (some what scaley) and rough...anyone else going through this? She also has cradle cap an I was wondering if this is what is causing it.  We have a dr appointment on Thursday but just wanted to see if any of you ladies had any suggestions/similar expiriences.

I just feel so bad for her and wonder what i am doing wrong :(

    I am not really sure about the face skin, but it very well could be from cradle cap I'm assuming. Xander had terrible cradle cap a month ago and we have been massaging baby oil into his scalp about ten minutes before bathtime. Then the very end of the bath we scrub his head lightly with a soft bristled toothbrush and then wash with baby shampoo not baby soap, and then after he is dry rub a tiny amount in. It worked wonders and here 3 weeks later it is barely noticeable at all. Try that for the head and talk to the pedi about the face, I don't know if baby oil on a face is such a good idea , HTH

    My DS has terrible cradle cap, so I started using CJ's BUTTer on his scalp and it's helped a ton! But I also use a soft bristled toothbrush with some olive oil on it.

    Will had some dry skin on his face a few weeks ago, I used CJ's BUTTer on it and it cleared up right away!  CJ's also cleared up the diaper rash he had from using disposables, he had really sensitive skin and disposables break him out in an instant!

    Jane has bad cradle cap, even in her eyebrows.  Her cheeks are rough and sometimes red, and her neck has a rash.  She is getting her 2 month shots next Monday, so I will ask her doctor.  If it gets worse before then, or if she acts like it is hurting her I will go sooner.  I think it may be eczema on her face and neck because both my mom and I have had issues with that.  I will try the BUTTer on her head and see if it helps.

    We've been dealing with this too!

    I've made a point to put some A/D ointment on her head after bath and some on her forehead and it seems to be a lot better after doing that a few times!
