Success after IF

busted

I gave Henry a banana for his afternoon snack today, but I was hungry, too, so I went into the kitchen while he was playing in the living room and snuck a few Ritz mini peanut butter sandwiches, which are his favorite treat.

I have to be really careful, because he recognizes the rattle of the packaging when I dig into the box, but I was pretty quiet and thought I'd pulled it off. Until I went back into the living room, sat down on the floor with him and leaned in for a kiss. He smelled them on my breath! Jumped up and ran to the pantry yelling, "Cracker! Cracker!"

WTH?

You can't slip anything past these kids.

  • LOL! Hayden does this with Multi-Grain Cherrios. These are his morning snack but they are pretty good so I will try to sneak some and he always seems to catch me. I am becoming a "pantry snacker" to avoid the 2 year old.

  • Claire's always asking me, "What's in your mouth, Mommy?" no matter how secretive I am about what I've eaten.  They're quick like that!

  • This might be one of my favorite kid stories ever!!  lol! Strikes me as so funny!
  • This is why i am a late night eater.  It is hard to get one by those little ones.  And they you feel bad about not sharing when they catch you!!!

Sam is the same way!!  He knows the sound of packaging. Not to mention that right now, he only wants what's mine - even if he has the EXACT SAME THING.  They are crazy critters :)
