NAPR- Classic toddler outburst over the weekend

We attended my cousin's Bah Mitzvah over the weekend with DD who has been out of diapers for two weeks. We had to sit near the front with the rest of the family, per my Aunt's request, because we were to be called up during the ceremony. I was so relieved that DD whispered that she had to go potty during the long service. We snuck out and back in quietly. Two seconds later she said she had to go again. I figured she just wanted to walk around so I sent DH with her. A few minutes later she came bouncing back in and exclaimed "I go poo! I go poo! I go poo in the potty mama!!". Surprise . She had been so well behaved and quiet until then but was so proud of herself I guess she couldn't help but share the news. When my grandmother turned around I couldn't tell if she wanted to scold DD or laugh. Anyways, several people later commented to us that potty training must be going well...At least she didn't use her new favorite word "gyna" :-),

  • So cute!

According to my mom I did something similar in a restaurant at that age, shouting across a restaurant. :)

  • I think potty "boasting" should always be acceptable, even during a bat mitzvah!

  • That is hysterical!

We were at a neighbor's house for a very large party.  Their little girl came running into the middle of everyone without any pants on screaming "I went potty all by myself".  She was learning to go without telling her parents first... she was so excited/proud of herself she forgot to put her pants on.  It was ADORABLE!

It is such a fun age as they are learning new things and can join in the excitement!
