Heartburn = Baby hair?

Is it true that if you have a lot of heartburn, your baby will have a lot of hair?

I have had absolutely no heartburn as of yet and was just curious if I continue to not have heartburn if my little man will still have hair.

nope it isnt true i had heartburn with all 3 of my kids and a little bit with this one and all of my kids barely had any hair and were bald till they were at least a yr in a half

I don't believe thats true even though DS was born with lots of hair. I did have bad heartburn too. So bad I couldn't sleep very well.

tons of heartburn and a bald baby.

friend didn't even know what hb felt like and her kid had a full head of hair.

I think there's some kind of very slight correllation with the hormones but definitely not a for sure thing.

Yea not true, I had heartburn with DS and he was bald when he came out. I actually had someone try to tell me that having heartburn and your baby having a lot hair is scientifically proven, granted this person has never been pregnant. So she got the side eye from me

Definitely FALSE. I had the worst heartburn with my dd, I would tell you stories but no one needs to hear that(lol), and she came into this world with hardly any peach fuzz!

One study has shown that it does have a correlation, but I am unable to find another study to confirm the results.

There ARE studies that have been done that show a correlation...but it's not a DEFINITE. That said, I had horrendous heartburn/acid reflux with Ds's. Horrendous as in, I couldn't sleep laying down the last 3-4 months b/c I would wake up choking on vomit if I did. it was BAD. My boys had tons of hair!! So it was true for me, anyway!

Heartburn is "usually" caused by the stomach being pushed up into the chest cavity which allows food and liquids to flow back into your esophagus (sp).

With my DD I barely had any heartburn and she was born with tons of hair and still has a lot of hair. With DS, I don't recall having that much if any and he was born with a good amount of hair.

I would say the whole baby is going to have a head full of hair if you have a lot of heartburn is pretty much an old wives tale.

I'm a first timer so I can't tell you my experience yet but I was watching one of those baby shows and they did a quiz before and after a commercial break about the heartburn=hair myth.

The show said it was true, there is a high correlation between the two and it has something to do with estrogen levels... I wasn't expecting that though.

I am having tons of heartburn so we shall see what happens.

OWT. The one symptom that I had with DD1 was killer heartburn and she was damn near bald until after her first birthday.

Nope. Not true. DS had so much hair you could actually see it in an u/s we had at 27 weeks. I never had heartburn even once while PG. He still has tons of hair. It;s one of the first things people always say about him!

It's just an OWT, however I will say that for me personally, I had heartburn constantly when I was pregnant with DD and she was born with a FULL head of dark curly hair! My nurse said she had never seen so much hair on a baby! I have heartburn with this baby also, so I hope DD's little sister has lots of hair too!

No. If it were true then my children should have given Rapunzel a run for her $.I had a ton of it. My husband claims I burned off all of their hair with the heartburn.
