Belly aches

My DD who just turned 3 complains often about her belly hurting.  Usually it is when she has to go #2 but on Friday she ended up vomitting.  She threw up again around 3 hours after the first episode.  She was completely fine after she threw up both times.  She woke up Saturday completely fine (and hungry) and kept down liquids and soon after food.  Since then she has been complaining on and off about her belly hurting.  Her stools are green but she is still eatting and drinking.  She is on miralax daily due to constipation issues.  Could this be a stomach bug that is just taking very long to run it's course?  Has anyone experienced this?  TIA!

    we have experienced it for all the reasons you mentioned above.

    I ask her if she has to go poop when she says her belly hurts, she says no, then 5 minutes later we go.

    I also ask her if she has to spit up  - but I can usually tell when she is coming down with a flu- type virus.

    Because DD often complained about belly aches I called my pedi who recommended miralax because she eats a lot of binding foods -- she is VERY picky. Since I have added a little to her diet she seems to be better but she does still complain and it is usually because she has to go #2.

    Sounds like we are in the same boat!!!  My DD is also very, very picky and also eats binding foods (she LOVES cheese).  Some days she will eat lots of fruit for me and others she shows no interest what so ever.  The miralax has definitely helped with her bowels though.  Thank you for your response!

    THis has probably run it's course by now, but if not, strep throat can present as a stomach ache/nausea in preschooler and toddlers.  If she is still having issues and has a fever or red throat, you may want to get her checked.  Twice now, DS#1 has had strep and the only symptom has been throwing up.  GL!
