anyone else with birth defects

Well in april  i had an ultrasound, and i found out that my baby boy has clubfeet but they were also concerned about his left hand cause it was always in a fist. Well i had an ultrasound yesterday, and my doctor told me that my baby has 4 fingers on his left hand and it is also small. I'm just really scared for him when he is old enough to go to school all the kids would make fun of him cause he isn't like the other kids. The feet are fixable so i'm happy about that, but im scared for him. No one i know understands what im going through cause they didn't have the same problem i do.

    One of my dear friends in high school only had three fingers on one hand and an amputated leg from a birth defect.  She had lots of friends and you would never know the difference.  It's all about how you raise him, confidence is key.  She just graduated from medical school, is starting her residency and got married last month.

    Awe well im happy that she graduated from medical school, its really sad that these things happen, but i will always be there for my son even if he has birth defects

    I'm sure you'll be an amazing mother!  I just wanted you to know that he can have a normal and healthy life :)  I don't know if you're religious or not, but I believe that God doesn't give you what you can't handle and he must think very highly of you!

    I can't imagine the worry and concerns you must have. I'm not in your situation but have worked with a lot of children and adults with birth defects. The one thing I hear over and over again is how grateful they were that their parents firmly believed they could do whatever they wanted and they were treated the same as their siblings.

    The special needs board is very helpful and supportive. You may want to post there for some advice from experienced moms.
