Reflux update

Dr isn't too concerned about weight.  He's still on the charts even if he dropped from 45% to 10th.  She does think it's reflux, so we have a prescription and are to keep doing Myelicon and possibly gripe water.

    We thought Avery had reflux for a while and the pedi put her on meds. We tried switching a few other things and then took her off the meds. Now I'm thinking it was just gas? I'm still not sure. I don't know that we'll ever completely figure her out.?

    We have a BIG spit up problem along with the gas.  It really is like he is losing a lot/most of what he eats.  He can't sleep on his back or he spits up all night and is drenched.  Dr. thinks reflux is causing gas issues b/c he swallows air when he gets upset.  Who knows.  I'm hoping the meds work.

    what meds did he give you? glad he is not concerned about the weight!!!

    Glad the pediatrician isn't concerned about his weight.  I hope the medication does the trick!

    Thats what DD is on (and Raglen). It took about a week to kick in and lately she has been a new baby!! I hear it doesnt help much with the spit up though. DD doesnt spit up much b/c she has silent reflux (goes up and then down rather than up and out). The raglen helps with motility so she doesnt spit up (synchronizes her digestive system to move along old food to make room for new food).

    we just got meds for andrew, but haven't started them yet. he spits up a lot and seems generally disgruntled when he eats (groaning, arching back, etc until he gets a burp out). then, when he does burp, it is usually a "wet burp" with spti up pooling up in my hand. but, andrew is gaining weight fine.

    My DD has bad reflux and is on Prevacid. She had an upper GI test done at our Children' Hospital that confirmed it.  The Prevacid has worked wonders for us and once she started it was like a whole new baby.  I hope the meds help your son.

    DD has been on zantac for about a week now and it has helped so much!  I hope the meds work!  We have occasionally had to "double dose" her with the Mylicon and Zantac - seems to be at night.  We also went to an infant massage class through our hospital that seems to work wonders!
