Update on my houseguest

OMG, the worst houseguests we've ever had. I wasn't going to post this...I wrote it yesterday and then felt mean about it. Today, not so much.

As some of you know (but may not care to) DH's family is here until the 25th, they have come from overseas, new baby yadda yadda yadda that's why it's a long stay. There are 4 of them my MIL, SIL and her 2 teenagers. I'm going to try to make this short and try to add some humor to it.
1) SIL and kids have "attendents" at home, they cook, clean and wipe their a$$es for them apparently because these people are pigs.
2) The SIL who said she would cook has cooked 1 lunch for her kids and nothing else. I have been trying to cook something at night but am exhausted and feel like shoving anything I cook up those a$$es they can't wipe themselves. Plus they are picky.
3) The younger girl is afraid of my dog and has stayed up in the room with the dog gate across since they arrived (Tuesday). This is the same dog that is afraid of her own farts.
4) SIL seems to think emptying the dishwasher is doing me a favor and I should thank her. Her and her brood create nothing BUT dirty dishes so please put them in the dishwasher, start it and remove them when done. Thankyouverymuch.
5) They are saving me from a huge water bill because they don't shower every day...wait is this a good or bad thing??? jk I really don't care if people shower every day it just bothers me when they LOOK dirty (or smell it's in the 90's here). Please don't cover it up with perfume either, DD smells like a wh0rehouse (or what I imagine one smells like).
6) SIL laughed when I told her that we only had 1 pepper in the house (for her 1 meal she cooked, it wasn't the right kind either), I guess I should have bought out the whole supermarket so that in case you wanted something it could be at the tips of you fingers.
7) I don't want ANYONE kissing my baby on her face but I know it's going to happen. DH came home from work the other day and told them not to kiss DD on the face...like as soon as he walked in so I know they are thinking I told him it was annoying me. I don't care.
8) SIL dresses like she's going to walk the streets at night, we live in middle TN. Confused
9) SIL is afraid to drive on the roads (she said she would) so DH has to use all his vaca days to drive them around.
10) They ripped one of the pool floats a few days ago...no one said anything to us it's just lying in a heap on the deck. I refuse to pick it up.
11) Back to the dishes, MIL tried to show SIL how to put dishes in the dishwasher and SIL just ignored her. I don't speak their language but I gathered this from their conversation. I can't believe you have to do this to a 45 year old woman.
HAHA I just walked into the kitchen and MIL was trying to put a huge bowl into the dishwasher without pulling out the drawer...wth.
I really am trying to see the humor in all of this, I now feel bad for DH because he has to deal with all 4 of them (and me) and I can just walk away or yes them since I don't understand 90% of what they are saying.

This is meant as a joke/vent but I have no tolerance for people with no manners. When you stay at someones house you help out be it 2 days or 20 doesn't matter if you do something small just do SOMETHING.

I really can laugh about this right now, they are only visiting and don't live here. I'm sure some of the ladies have it worse with their families that possible live around the corner!

  • Oh my goodness!  I think it's probably a good thing you don't speak the same language or they might get an earful by the time they leave!  Hang in there!

  • Oh dear! At least they're only visiting! You could draw an instruction drawing for loading the dishwasher and tape it to the front Wink (jk)

  • I'd quit cooking for them. Seriously. If you are having to stay up at night to cook, it's time to let them take over.

The whole thing sucks...but is kinda funny too. Sounds like you have a great sense of humor about it, which is probably what is keeping you sane!

  • That sounds so awful!! I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Hopefully you and LO are getting out of the house often to "run errands" and get a break from all that!

They need to go home or go to a hotel. You're not there to wait on them hand and foot. Tell DH he needs to deal with this, it isn't fair to you! You shouldn't have to be cleaning up after people, they should be taking care of you.
