I think DS and the FP Seahorse are drifting apart

They used to be BFFs but now I think it is time for us to find another soother for him. 
The seahorse just doesn't hold his interest like it used to and he has been adamant about going down in his crib wide awake and winding himself to sleep (he used to let me rock him to sleep and now he wants nothing to do with it). Any recommendations on a good mobile or something that projects onto the ceiling?? I like this but it seems like he might not be able to see the stars very well and might be suited better for older kids. Anyone have something their LO loves? TIA!

We have a turtle like that. I mainly use it on the dresser while changing him or when I'm rocking him to sleep. It lights up the whole room, and DS really gets a kick out of it.

This one puts the stars on the ceiling (in a few different color options), plays music, and also plays nature sounds. DS is not yet sleeping in his room (will start next week), so I can't say if it works, but it seems along the lines of what you're looking for. Got mine from Target.
The post title made me giggle! We have the "baby crack" machine (homedics), I think DH and I sleep better then her with it on. The projection is good and would be great if we had curtains in her room, she just naps in there now and it just has blinds. Plus it plugs in...and was $19 on amazon.
That mobile looks great! Did you order it off amazon? Or was it in-store somewhere?
DD loves the Rainforest Waterfall Baby Soother. She loves watching the colors and listening to the music as she goes to sleep. Anytime we go somewhere overnight, it HAS to come with us!

I use that turtle. He definitely notices the starts. I put it on the green while we bf and then change it to amber when I'm trying to get him to sleep. I also play his mobile (I have the Carter's Laguna one).
