High-Risk Pregnancy

Anyone else who has a "deadline" ?

Does anyone else have a day that their OB/ Endo/ MFM has said is the absolute LAST day you'll be pregnant?

Mine is August 19th. 39w, 5days.. although I think they'll move it at my MFM appointment on 8/4 since she's still measuring big by fundal height and my BS has not been that great here lately..

That's only 1 month away! How long have you other High Risk Mommas got?

Re: Anyone else who has a "deadline" ?

  • My OB told me that due to my GD, I will not be allowed to go past 39 weeks. Hopefully I don't have to be induced, but if I do, I do. :)

  • I'm allowed to go to my due date, but not beyond. I'm pushing them to give me a few extra days, because I really want to VBAC.... so I need him to come on his own!

  • My OB won't let me go past 39 weeks (due to GD) - which is today.  If nothing happens in the next 12 hours, I go into the hospital tonight to start the induction process. Eeek!

  • I don't have a deadline and will fight my OB tooth and nail about a deadline UNLESS it is medically necessary.  So far, my GD has been a non-issue (I only test 3 days a week, don't even count carbs....)  My growth ultrasounds have put the baby in the middle-of-the-road as far as size.  I want a med-free birth and I want LO to come when she is ready to be born.
  • I have been told that I will not go past my due date.  I am eager to try a natural birth so I hope my LO decides to come before then.  I have not had any issues and like a pp said I don't count carbs and only test 1 meal besides fasting.  I have my first growth scan on Wednesday and my OB appointment on Friday so hopefully nothing changes.

  • Right now it's my due date, but based on NSTs and BPPs starting at 36 weeks it could change to 39 weeks. I am insulin dependent GD, and my insulin needs are rapidly increasing, so I am pretty sure that even if all tests are normal they'll induce before my due date.

  • 39 weeks. (September 1st). But that's less to do with my preterm labor and more to do with the fact that LO is HUGE! My best bet to avoid a CS is be induced at 39 weeks--assuming I make it that far. I was against inducement unless medically necessary but I really want to do anything I can to avoid a CS (especially since I've already had a baby and stretched out my body. It would stink to have both a scar AND a stretched V).

  • I'm Type 2 and have already been told I can't go past 39 weeks. Because I'm insulin dependent, I also can't go into "natural labor" and have to be induced no later than 39 weeks.

Ditto. I am counting carbs for these last 2 weeks, just to watch my weight gain (water weight in the CA sunshine!) but I will not allow an induction unless they can prove to me that she is in distress.
