I EP (but Kate gets >50% formula because of my crappy supply). I'm going to keep it up at least until January--I extended my rental contract on the breast pump until then.
I've had to cut back on pumping sessions...used to do it 8 times a day but with working from home, a baby that doesn't like to nap (and starts to fuss the minute I sit down to pump), and one that needs to be kept upright after feedings for an hour, I can't get 8 in. My supply is taking a hit as a result, but something had to slip.
I don't know how you guys do it. I hate, and I mean hate, pumping. I should be doing it more to up my supply (especially on one side), but I detest it. It takes so much time.
I'm with you, jenn. I pumped after every feeding for the first 2.5 weeks, and I really hated it. I love what it did to my supply, but I don't think I could do it all the time and for a long time!
Oh trust me. I hate it with a passion. I would have quit long ago if it were not for Linc's condition. I figure that any extra help his little brain can get is well worth my short-term discomfort. I am going to try to make it to his 6 month b-day. Then I am going to wean him, and use the freezer stash up. We are going to start TTC for baby #2 in the beginning of the year. I really hope the BFing works the next time around, because I don't think that I could EP again. It does suck majorly!
just wanted to say you ladies deserve a medal. We were doing this initially for a couple of weeks so I could get my supply up and it was horrible. Between feeding him and then trying to pump, I was always doing something to get him fed. I was so tired. No way I could have kept doing that...
I EP and I'm beginning to HATE it! It's very draining, not to mention I've had problems with mastitis and clogged ducts. I'm trying to stick it out as long as I can.
i EP. i go back and forth as to when i am going to stop. i started to try and wean this week, but then i think that i should keep with it. i will def stop all together by mid dec because pumping at work would be really hard with my job.
i had hoped EP for my 13weeks of ML. pumping and teaching 1st grade would NOT go well together.
but we only made it about 3 weeks. with all his feeding issues, i just couldn't pump enough and my supply was very weak anyway. i wish i could have done it longer but i know that we are doing what is best for all of us (physically AND emotionally!!)

P.S. Linc is so cute!!
