Pregnant after a Loss

Talk to me about RLP & Corpus Lutem Cysts...

I keep having this crazy stretch like pain on my right side (where the cyst is). I goes from the general area of my ovary down to the groin area. Sometimes it even tingles/tickles some that I end up scratching at it. It's not constant but is it normal?

 Thanks :)

  • Sounds like RLP to me! I get a ton of pain and pulls everywhere. I tend to still run it by my OB but nothing has excited her so far!

  • That isn't what RLP felt like to me.  I did have all sorts of strange cramps and aches early on though, but nothing quite like what you described.  With my first pregnancy I had more 'adjustment' cramping (not sure if its RLP or not, I'm talking about the cramps where your ute gets lined up as needed for pregnancy).  I didn't have much time between pregnancy #1 and this pregnancy, so that may be why I didn't have it as much this time around.  For me RLP is very sudden and short lived.  Usually it happens when I move too fast, particularly when I get up.  Its a shooting pain that stops me in my tracks and my hand goes to the painful area (usually the lower portion of my belly) automatically.  In general though, there are all sorts of strange and unusual sensations with pregnancy and as long as its not painful, its probably normal.  Run it by your doctor if you are unsure.

For me the corpus luteum cyst was a dull ache on the one side in the early weeks of pregnancy.

Thanks :) The cyst definitely gives me a dull ache, fortunately it's not a constant. The other pains tend to hit me more when I move, sneeze, cough, etc.

  • Sounds like RLP to me too.  I often get it on only one side at a time.

  • I had SO MUCH pain with my CL cyst.  I think the pain translates into skin itching becuase it feels like you can do something about it on your skin vs. deep inside.  It was pretty massive but eventually went away (I think by 15 weeks or so).  RLP Is more like crampy, pully, but sometimes sharp stretching.
