Milla turned 5 month on the 15th. Last time we were at Doctor's office she was in 60th percentile for her weight. She always had a good apetite and was pretty good at having 6-7 oz. I primarily give her breast milk, and formula at night. For past 5 days she would only have 4-5 oz and just push the bottle away. I figured if she just did it once - no big deal. But then it happened where she wouldn't eat more than 5 oz, 3 times per day, then she would have a big bottle of 7 oz. I would compare it to like she really wants to have a big meal as her dinner. I am worried that she is not getting enough. I also don't know what people mean when they say "ready for solids" Is this one of the signs? I was recommended by my pedi to wait until 6 months. I am just wondering what could this behavior mean and what should I do.
Thank you.
Re: eating habits
It might just be a phase ... around this time, babies are going through a developmental leap and some of the signs of this going on is diminished appetite (and also fussiness and what have ya). (https://blogginaboutbabies.wordpress.com/2009/04/08/wonder-week-19/) I wouldn't worry as long as she's doing well and keeps gaining weight. Also, it's always good to wait with solids. Here's a great article about what to watch out for to find out if your baby is solids-ready.

Here is a list of signs or the baby being ready for solids:
it is hot as h*ll! It is been over 100 for 17 days - I am in Dallas, TX. The heat is unbearable. I will let her have some cool milk. Thanks for the tip
Sorry I meant to quote you earlier. Do you speak Czech to your baby? my mom watches Milla during the day and she only speaks Russian. My husband speaks English, although he tries to learn Russian. I am hoping to have a bilingual baby.
Hey! We live in Sweden, so we're planning for Stella to be trilingual
We speak English to her, the rest of the folks speak Swedish to her and I usually just sing Czech to her .. I am planning to obtain some Czech baby books and later on make her watch Czech fairytales, etc.
