question about fenugreek bottle?

I ordered some Fenugreek to help with my supply, which was never suffering but I would like to get a little more in the freezer than I have been. I couldn't find it at any stores near me so I ordered the GNC brand, but on the bottle the directions say "As a dietary supplement, take one to two capsules daily. Consult your physician prior to use if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, nursing or have a medical condition."

Did anyone elses bottle say this and not have any direction for how to use to improve lactation?! I guess I didn't realize it could be used as a dietary supplement so I'm really got off gaurd how to use this.

    Here is what I am going by...KellyMom - Fenugreek 

    Don't know where you live but Nutrition S'mart carried it here in Tampa.  Might look at Whole Foods or a health food store.

    I think any form of medication has to say that about pregnant/nursing just as a safety precaution on their part.

    I would talk to a LC about dosage.

    This. I ordered mine from Amazon because I couldn't find it here at a regular grocery or drug store and didn't want to run all around town.

    My LC told me not to buy mine from GNC, I dont remember why. I got mine at a Sunshine health foods.

    I got mine at Walgreens and it is especially for breastfeeding moms.

    I was just going to say that you can find it at most standard drug stores.  It's in with the vitamins and other herbal supplements.

    Regarding the warning, I think that's a pretty standard warning on any herbal supplement since they are not regulated by the FDA.  If the main ingredient is fenugreek, then I would take it, but that's just me.

    I got mine from Wal-mart in the vitamin sections...I think it was Nature's Way- 610 or 620 mg.  It was about 100 pills for $5.00. Although it says not for nursing moms, Dr's office said that's just the standard warning.  They said 2 pills with every meal, which is consistent with kellymom.com.

    mine is also from gnc, and says only two pills a day. interesting input here. i think i will try target when i go this afternoon and start taking two pills, three times a day.

    Thank you for all the input ladies! I guess I was just freaking because I read people saying they are taking 6 a day and this said 1-2 . I'll call the doctor to be sure the amount is safe :) Thanks for everyone's feedback
