BOB vs. BJ City Mini

Trying to select a jogger (which will be our main stroller).  While I understand that the BOB is the Rolls Royce of baby joggers, I'm worried that it's too heavy to lug up and down stairs (we live on the second floor).  We need a jogger with an infant insert since we won't be getting a travel system.  The BOB is out of our price range but if I save every penny, I could probably swing it.

I thought I had found a solution in the BJ City Mini but now I'm getting mixed reviews about it's utility for actual running.  I need a stroller for running AND everything else.

Re: BOB vs. BJ City Mini

  • I have both, the BOB is my jogging/ walking stroller and the city mini is my mall/ shopping stroller.  The City Mini is definitely not a jogging stroller.

Our house is set up on a hill, so I have a flight and a half of stairs between my car and my front door.  I keep the BOB in my car, I have a small Honda Fit, because I'm the one that uses it, and DH keeps the Citi Mini in his car.  If I had to bring the BOB up and down everyday, I doubt I would use it and definitely wouldn't as my everyday stroller.

I have both also and agree with everything pp said. We take the bob on trips each wknd to our beach house...the wheels pop off pretty easily but it's still kinda a pain.

We have a BOB and I love it.  The ride is soo smooth.  It is a bit of beast, though, so I'm thinking of getting a City Mini for quick errands.

  • We have a BOB and love it! It's actually not heavy at all, just clumsy. I lift it in and out of our Subaru all of the time.

I agree- I have a BOB and it's my only stroller.  I do keep it in the trunk of my Honda Accord since my house is small and there's nowhere really to store it indoors.  It can be a bit awkward to unfold (at least for me), but I still wouldn't prefer a different stroller.  I can't wait until DD is old enough to actually jog with it!
