Daycare (in-home or center) recs on the east side or near er to downtown?

Hi ladies.

I am looking for some recommendations for a daycare on the east side (no farther out than maybe Anderson, we live near Mariemont) or close-ish to downtown. I was laid off in March, but may be returning to work next week (am waiting to hear), while we have daycare right now--it is in Loveland, which will not work long-term if I am working downtown.

It'd be for a toddler, an infant and maybe my 5 year-old for a couple weeks until she starts kindergarten at the end of August.

I'm calling 4C for kids today as their search is limited, but I'll take any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

  • I got the job! So we definitely need something near mariemont or close to downtown. If anyone knows of anything, please post it.

  • Cincinnati Early Learning Center in East Walnut Hills is where we would send our kids if we needed full time care. They are expensive though. Goddard School on Red Bank would be close to you also.

I don't know of any centers that are really convenient to your location...

I've heard good things about Child Focus, Jelly Bean Junction (Clough), and Little Red Schoolhouse in the Eastgate area, but those places are probably out of your way.

However, when I did my search, I always looked at the reports on ODJFS.  https://www.odjfs.state.oh.us/cdc/query.asp

Most centers have some violations, but you could tell the difference between them just by thinking about the type of violation (something not hanging on the wall, not having a form for a child's med, etc... vs. leaving med out or kid unattended in van).

This is where we send DD and love it. The waiting list for the infant room (and I imagine the other rooms) can be pretty long. They have a few other sites as well. Their website: https://celcinc.org/.

I am going to call their downtown center tomorrow while I am on break. I called an in-home daycare that's registered with the County/City, but she doesn't have any openings until closer to the start of school.

and Little Red Schoolhouse in the Eastgate areaway.

LO goes here and it is fantastic.. I cannot say enough good things. however, as Kel said, it's probably too far east. The Anderson location does not have infant care I think.
