Re: Daily Bed Rest Check-In 7/18/11 (Mon) New Posters Welcome!
Hey ladies, I'm sorry that I forgot to come update last week. My baby boys are a week old now after being delivered by c/s on July 11th. Owen James weighed 2 lbs and was 13". Miles Reed weighed 2 lbs 8 oz was 14.25". Both are doing well in the NICU. Prayers and happy bed resting to all you soon to be mamas! Congrats also to CurlingRocks! Congrats Mrs. Alice!
Happy Monday Ladies!
1. I work in Philanthropy/Event Planning for a Non Profit. I only work part time.
2. Not sure as this is baby number 2 for me
3. Ummm...I always thought it would be fun to work for a PR agency in New York.
Updates: I spent Saturday in L&D because I was having really intense and horrible cramps. Turns out they think I have another bacterial infection so I am on antibiotics...again! Ugh. Also the on call doctor thinks that I have an irritable uterus. And that the cramping will probably continue. Anyone else have this? No I am worried all the time. My Doctor told me to call if I had any cramping because it could be a sign of PTL but now I feel like I will second guess myself that it is just nothing. Advice? Words of Wisdom? I go in for my regular appointment on Wednesday so I guess I will see if my Doctor puts me on SBR.
Another update (NBR): Tomorrow is my little boy's 4th Birthday! I cannot believe how old he is. Time flies when you are having fun. I can't wait to watch him open presents and eat Spiderman cake tomorrow!
Hi ladies! I'm new here - did a quick intro on Friday.
1. I'm an insurance adjuster
2. Yes, I carry our health insurance and DH doesn't have the option to, so I kinda have to go back to work.
3. I've always thought I would enjoy healthcare recruiting or pharmaceutical sales. I have a MS in HR so the healthecare recruiting may actually be an option one day.
Updates:
I have a doc appt today @ 2:30p to check on the PTL and see if I'm still progressing and assess the bed rest status. I'm taking my hospital bag just in case...My regular appt is next Monday with u/s.
Good Morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Congrats Mrs.Alice, your boys are adorable, glad to hear they are doing well!
1. CSP83, you and I do the same thing! I've been a non-profit event planner for over 10 years now. About a year ago I cut back to part-time and now that I'm on bed rest I'm able to work a bit from home which is really nice.
2. I will not go back to my event planning job. I'm also a licensed esthetician and I was working at a spa a few days a week before my complications started. I plan on going back to the spa sometime in January, but it will only be 2 or 3 days a week.
3. I really love being an esthetician, but I would love to do more make-up! I've done a few weddings but would really like to do more. I'd also love to do some print work.
Updates: I've got a doctors appointment this afternoon, she'll do an internal (lucky me!) I've got my fingers crossed for no changes! I also have to do my 1 hour glucose test, I really don't want to add GD to my list of complications!
My shower was yesterday, it was really nice and these babies got spoiled. I now have a closet full of tiny pink and blue clothes, it's definitely making this feel more real!
I'm in MN so I've been dealing with the lovely heat wave that's hit the mid-west. DH & I have been having a battle with the A/C, I'll crank it way up and the next thing I know he's turned it down again. I'm kind of glad he's away at work today and I can turn the house into an ice box:))
I'm an ultrasound tech. I work in a breast care center, but I can also do general ultrasound (abdomen, pelvic, thyroid, OB/GYN).
Yes, I'll be going back to work after my 6 week mat leave. I'll be using the daycare we have at the hospital I work at, so Cael will be coming with me "to work" in the morning, and going home with me after work in the evening.
I love my profession, so I can't think of anything else I'd want to do.
Updates: No updates today.
Congrats to etoyama for making it to 35 weeks! That is so exciting to have made it so far, I'm sure you feel some relief! Congrats to Mrs. Alice, too- so glad to hear that your boys are here and doing well. I hope their stay in the NICU is uneventful and they get to come home as healthy, happy, hungry little boys
Mrs.Loos- yay for the shower! Isn't it such a welcome distraction to be able to visit and socialize? Focusing on the adorable outfits and toys, etc is a great way to stay positive and get through this tough time.

Updates: To celebrate my upgrade of activity at 32 weeks DH, Daughter and went out to a quick and easy dinner on Friday night. It was so weird to be a restaurant after all my time at home.
