Last year, Max had no problem with sunblock allergies. This year, his skin is a mess of little itchy bumps and red splotches. The sunblock is the only thing new in our routine, so I know it's the culprit (I am also super sensitive to sunblock). For those of you who have kiddos with Eczema, what brand of sunblock to you use? We were using the Water Babies brand, but we need to stop using it. TIA!

Re: Sunblock for Eczema kiddos
Sunblock? What for? The cloud burn?
We use California baby or arbonne. My MIL uses pure zinc on him. It hardly rubs in at all but works in a pinch!
Bwhahaha. It's only cloudy on the weekends.
We go to Eastern WA a few times a year, and running around GL this morning, it was super sunny. I don't want my little white bunny to burn on his little bald head!
SunMountain, I love Alba products. Do they have a kid one or is it good for kiddos and adults?

The only thing I've been able to use on W is Vanicream: https://vanicream.com/products/vanicream_sunscreen60.cfm
Walgreens sells it.
I would look at this list: https://safemama.com/cheatsheets/sunscreen/
The Water Babies stuff has loads of chemicals. So my guess is he's reacting to some of those. The ones in the Safe Mamma list use Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide as the active ingredients... those should be better on sensitive skin since they're just physical barriers...
Thanks, L. I totally forgot about Blue Lizard. I am going to get the Alba and the Blue Lizard and see if those make a difference!

This- I made the mistake of using water babies on DD on her 1st bday and her eyes were red and watering the whole party
Poor thing. I switched to Cali baby (although, only on her face latley, and the Coppertone kids on her arms and legs cause the spray is so easy) and things have been much better.
Find something for sensitive skin.
Eczema is usually related to food allergies of some kind. I had it, and Gavin was a mess by 3 months of age. Turns out we are both allergic to eggs and peanuts (him, most nuts). Getting rid of the food allergy made our eczema go away completely.
That's nice that it went away for you, Susan. However, that doesn't work for everyone. Not by a long shot. It can be caused by a number of factors, food allergies only being one of many.
Sorry late response. I don't think there's a kid one specifically but I feel totally okay using on my kids. A dermatologist gave the first tube to me for the stinging issues w/ the kids. It's SPF 45 and really mild.....and not not $20 like California Baby - I think it was $12.
We use UV Natural Baby on their bodies and California Baby Sunblock Stick on their face (just because its easier to apply) and Ella has had no flair ups with either of those.
Zinc oxide is one thing that helps heal eczema. I would get clear zinc oxide. I know Ocean Potion sells it in little pots for face... sold lots of places, but here is what it looks like... https://www.amazon.com/Ocean-Potion-Suncare-Clear-Oxide/dp/B000EGMBP2
When my daughter was a toddler, she got it on her hands every winter. Her ped prescribed Elidel. We tried many things. Pure aloe vera cured it. We cut the leaves directly from the cactus, split the leaf and applied the goo.
