I mean like not leaning forward and resting on their hands a'la Gorilla style.

DS is working REALLY hard on it but is so darn tippy!

DD tries to do this in her car seat. If she's not wearing a CD, it fits looser so she can sit up. She sat up the whole car ride home from grandpa's and I didn't realize it until we were home today. She's been trying to sit up all by herself all week but still needs to have mommy help pull her up and balance her.

Just started on Monday! He is still doing some tripoding, but can sit for 3-5 minutes without the help of his hands! It was the coolest thing to watch develop!

She just started gorilla sitting. It'll be a while before she's sitting on her own, I'm sure. But, she is almost crawling which is scary.

Honestly not trying to brag, but Silvie started gorilla sitting about 3 weeks ago and about 1.5 weeks ago started sitting up on her own. She's wobbly, but only tips over if she's on an uneven surface like the couch or bed. She does really well on the floor. But she's been trying to sit up out of her bouncy and carseat for a long time now, so I think she just has the muscles made. Its so cute!

It developed really fast. She was doing the tripod or almost bending herself in half at the waist for about a week right at 5 months. Now, she can sit by herself for about five minute stretches. She sometimes gets wobbly and falls to one side. Just a couple of days ago she finally got enough balance to figure out how to play with toys and sit at the same time. She cant get herself to a seated position quite yet though. I have to start her out sitting.

DD can go for about 10 seconds without tipping over. I don't exactly consider it sitting yet since it ends so quickly as she topples over. Getting awfully close though!

I adore my son but he is a slug still. He just rolled over tummy to back for the first time this weekend, and we couldn't get him to do it again. My DD was sitting up by 4 months, so this new to us. His tone is good, his movements are good, he has great hand/eye coordination, he is just 18 pounds atleast by now so I don't think he has the strength to move himself yet. He is my little chubster. Man, I love that little guy.

LO has been pulling him self up for a while to stand. Not bragging but standing since he was 4 wks old. He has just lately been sitting with out help for a long time. Been setting though in the feeding table at daycare since he was 10 wks old so that has helped him. We notice this weekend he is pulling his butt out of the bumbo set so that is not a good thing. But crawling he goes backwards gets mad because he can't get his forward motion going LOL. But loving each new stage he is so much fun.

Only for a few seconds before she topples over. I feel like she is getting closer, but not there yet. She will sit tripod style leaning on her hands. I think my DS was a little over 6 months before he could steadily sit on his own not leaning on anything.

We practiced ALL day on Saturday...but she needs my help. But, I can tell she really wants to sit up on her own.

Gus really started getting it the past few days. Now he can really do it for a long time and catch himself if he starts to tip. I still put a boppy around him, because he still tips over once in a while

C is a tripoding champ. Sitting up I get 30-60 seconds out of him the last few days.
