  DD's tubes were more than twice that figure when you add in the cost of the anesthesia, operating room, and recovery room. So yeah, you're going to hit that deductible. Sorry

  Ouch is right. Both my kids had them but my copay was only $20 each. I'd have paid way more though. So worth it. Neither has even had a cold and my DS had his in February and DD had hers in March.

  Yuck thats a high deductible. I have no idea what DDs tubes cost since we dont have to pay a penny for any surgeries. But I remember seeing high numbers on the EOB

  I was quoted $1200 per ear price before insurance.

  The hospital bill alone, before insurance, was something like $18K for both ears.

  That does not include the bill we got from our doctor and the antheisiologist. 

   Our deductible is $2700 and we hit that easily. Sorry, I know how much that sucks!

  Shouldn't it be covered if you chose a doctor who is "in-network"? I don't remember paying anything.

  It depends on your insurance.  I think we ended up paying 10%, which was right around $600.
