I lanolized my used wool soaker per the tutorial on the Sbish site. When I added the dissolved lanolin back into the water with the soaker it all just gooped up. What did I do wrong? Now it's just a sticky mess.
Generally the lanolin needs some help getting into solution. What I'd recommend doing: put the lanolin in a small microwaveable container (I use a little mason jar), preferably with a lid. Add a few drops of wool wash or baby shampoo and some hot water (or add water and heat in microwave for 20-30 seconds). Put the lid on and shake for 30 seconds. Then mix that into the soak water before adding your woolies.

Yeah, I dissolved a tsp of lanolin in super hot water with a drop of baby wash per the sbish directions and stirred it until it was all dissolved and it still got goopey when I added it back to the water.

A whole teaspoon of lanolin? How much water were you using? I use a large bowl for my lanolin soaks, and a pea-sized blob of lanolin (OK, it's larger than that, but two peas max). A teaspoon sounds like a lot.
It seemed like a ton, but that's what the directions said So now can I just re-wash and start over with the right amount this time?
Yes, you can rewash. Worst case scenario, if the wool is totally greasy, you can strip with a little blue Dawn and then relanolize. If there are just some extra specks on the wool, they'll rub in.
Re: wool prep fail - a little help?

Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
