NCDR: knitting help for soaker

I've gotten the ribbing started and now I'm doing the eyelet row and following  ribbing, but I'm having a hard time getting the ribbing even. 

k2, p2 for 4 rows

k2, yo, p2tog. repeat for whole row.

k2 , p2 for 4 rows again.

now is the top ribbing supposed to line up with the bottom? with the p2tog, everything seems to be slightly off. or am i just not counting right?

    The p2together will create the hole and then the ribbing should line up again

    Count your stitches the yo is an increase and the p2to is the drop make sure you aren't picking up the drop when you move back to k2 p2. You should still have the same number that you started with

    ah ok! i think i was doing the yo  wrong then, either that or picking up the stitch!
