My LO will not nap during day!

OK my lo will be 3 months old in a week and she will not nap during the day. We have a great night time routine and she sleeps excellent through the night- usually to bed by 9:30 and up at 4:00- 4:30 or so...I know I cannot complain there...However during the day she will get so tired and cranky from being over tired yet I will do everything- wear her down, nurse till shes passed out, swaddle, shushhh and walk around the house, give the paci, play relaxing music and nothing works. She will literally be passed out in my arms for a little bit and I will lay her in her crib (both on tummy and back) or lay her in our bed on a blanet and YEP 5 minutes later she is up and smiling as if she is not tired anymore!!

I just dont get how an infant can be up all day, I am an adult and I am tired as heck! I am glad we are good during the night time and she is getting her rest then but during the day it stinks and I feel like a bad mom because I have no routine or schedule established because she will not sleep!

Anyone else? Any advice? Thanks in advance and sorry so long of a post! HAPPY MONDAY!

I would hold her for at least one nap a day, just so she's not cranky.  I realize it sucks, but she's not quite 3 months old, so she may just need the warmth and comfort of someone there while she naps.  Lila is like this some days - I just roll with it.  If she's still that way in a few months, we'll make adjustments as necessary, but for now I'm willing to let her be a baby and give her what she wants.

  • my friend's DD was like that. She didn't nap until she was almost 1 year old.
  • my DD is the same. She just doesn't sleep during the day, but at night she does. I sometimes put her in to her swing well that helps, but if i want to pick her up to put her in to her crib she does wake up!
  • Mine just started this. She usually sleeps 7-4 or 8/9-6, it's crazy.
