Lasik recommendations & prices?

I REALLY want Lasik.  I was told by a previous eye doctor (in Wisconsin) that I was a good candidate since my eyes aren't that bad and I don't have any special issues.

I'm wondering if anyone on here has had it and if you'd recommend the place that did it- and how much it was.  I know the cost varies a lot regionally so I have no idea what it is around here, which would certainly sway my decision to do it.

TIA!

PS- I'm in Edmonds but willing to travel for a good doctor and price!

  • I looked into this last year and asked here too :) I got some great rec's but unfortunatly my eyes are beyond correction still :( Good luck! I am so jealous of those that can have it done! Also- you can use HSA money for it if you have one!

  • I recommend Clearly Lasik in Renton, I think its now technically called King Vision.  My husband and I both had our eyes corrected there and have been very happy with them.  (We both technically has interlase, where they use a laser and don't cut a flap in the eye, not lasik, but they do both!)  I think its totally worth it!

  • I have only known 3 people that have had it done and a couple of years later they are back to wearing glasses (so I really can't recommend it.)

  • My husband had it done at Cascade Eye & Skin last year in Tacoma and he could NOT be happier. He loves it and says it was worth every penny. I plan to get it done in a few years myself. The idea of no contacts is sooooo appealing.

  • I replied in the linked thread posted by itskacie, but I just want to say again how much I LOVE being glasses free.  It was worth every.single.penny, especially with a grabby baby these days.  I only wish I'd done it sooner (I was too much of a chicken, even contacts scared me so badly I couldn't wear them. :)

  • I want it too! It is number two on my list of things to do when I'm done nursing (#1 being a boozy trip to Vegas!) Everyone I know who has had it done loves it! I haven't really done any research on cost but there was a groupon a couple months ago that was going for $2400 ...it was a 50% savings so that made the original price $4800. I honestly thought it would be a lot cheaper than that but even at that price it would be worth it to me to be done with contacts & glasses.

  • My husband had it done 9 years ago, in Bellevue (I'm sorry I can't remember the name) but he was very happy with the process.  He had worse than 20./150 (or something like that) and when he came out he was 20/15.  He still has amazing vision I'm sure it's close to perfect. He paid somewhere around $1500 per eye. My father also had it done about 5 years ago in Bellevue and he has astigmatism in both eyes.  He's happy with his results as well.
