Ok, who has been looking at gliders? Or have one that's tried and true?
I went to BRU and PBK yesterday and ended up being more frustrated than educated. All I want is a glider that is super comfortable, reclines and has an ottoman. I know I will spend hours nursing in it, so it better be pretty damn cushy on the back and arms.
PBK gliders don't recline, so scratch that.
BRU gliders...mostly they were the wood frame ones--are those as comfy as an all-upholstered one? The tricky thing here is that if I go with a wood frame, it will have to be white to match the nursery furniture. I mean, I guess it has to match...ideally. Apparently that is too long of a wish list, because nothing fit the bill when I looked yesterday. Perhaps I just didn't see a wide enough range on the floor.
What are y'all leaning towards?

We went with a non-reclining swivel/glider with a matching gliding ottoman. It is the most comfortable chair I have *ever* sat on. OMG I'm in love. I also love the fact that the arms are so low. It will make feeding with a boppy a possibility if baby decides he's comfortable that way. Can't PIP at work, so here's a link:

We chose to have it upholstered in a soft green and white stripe. It was a little pricey with both pieces ($650 after discounts), but as PPs have said, we view it as something that should transition out of the nursery and into our family room in later years.
Why not just buy a regular recliner??? In all seriousness, it's something you'll use a lot longer and will feel more comfortable in...
I agree with suggestions to just go with a recliner. I have a glider in DS's room that worked only when he was really little, and was not super comfy to nurse in. I ended up nursing him in the twin bed that is in his room as it was more comfy (and if we feel asleep it was safer).
We also have a recliner downstairs (where we spend most of the day) and it is sooo much better for nursing, napping, etc. in. If you get it now you will be amazed at how wonderful it feels to use during 3rd tri. when you get heartburn, can't lie comfortably, etc.
We got the Newco Taylor swivel glider and matching ottoman in brand new condition from a garage sale for $200.
If you want it to rock and recline, you don't need an ottoman. I have a wood framed glider and it works just fine. I got it off of craigslist because we didn't have a ton of money to spend one a glider. I still use it every day! I just moved the ottoman to the corner of her room and her laundry basket sits on top.
While you're rocking it's really nice to have a nursing stool instead of the ottoman. It props your feet up enough to make nursing easier as well as rocking.
We have a recliner in the living room (our couches recline) and frankly, I hardly recline with my DD in my arms.
Think about how you're going to really use the chair. Are you going to simply use it for nursing and reading stories? If that's the case you may not need it to recline at all. But then again, that's just my opinion other moms may recline with their kids all the time. I don't know.
Oh and you don't want it white! Inevitably your baby will spit up or vomit all over it one day and you're not going to want to deal with those stains. What are the colors you're going with in the room? Pick an accent color and go with that.
I think we are going to go with this one:

I want something that is upholstered, glides and is more "modern" looking but still comfy for DH is sit in. If he had his way, we would get the recliner with the remote control.. haha.
