Walmart registry - return policy?

My shower was Saturday and it was so much fun! 

We registered for the Graco snap n go stroller and it was purchased by one of my friends online and she had it shipped to the local store where she picked it up.  Well, we also received an identical stroller from DH's aunt in Canada (which cannot be returned unless we go back up to Canada...not planning to do this anytime soon). 

I tried to return the stroller to Walmart yesterday and the lady told me since it was site to store shipping, it can't be returned without a receipt, even though it is on my registry and the box has the order number and everything on it.  Has anyone heard of this?  I'm thinking I should try to return it to another Walmart and assume this lady was just too lazy or stupid to figure out how to return it. 

I thought Walmart was supposed to be awesome at returns.  While I could ask my friend for a reciept, I feel kind of bad doing that...so I'd only ask her as a last resort.

    I think it is a little different with their site to store shipping.  So she might be right.  I think you are going to have to ask your friend for the receipt and just explain to her what happened.  I'm sure she'll understand, since the other one came from Canada.  But she might have to take it back herself.  WM is really good about returns, but I've had several things shipped to the store, and they are pretty particular about that stuff.  Or you could just call and speak to a manager and make sure you understand the policy before you do a bunch of legwork.

    It might be the policy, but I'd try again just in case. I'm pretty sure I've returned things to walmart that weren't even purchased from there! I'd just have a copy of my registry and explain it (to a different person) and I'm sure they'll at least give you store credit!

    Go to this page on Walmart.com:

    There is a form to fill out so you can return your item to the store.

    That might be only for returns by mail, actually. But on the Walmart website it doesn't say you need a receipt for a Walmart.com return.

     

    Return the Gift to a Walmart Store
    An associate will issue an immediate credit to the original payment method or provide a store credit for the cost of the item and the sales tax, if applicable.
