Food Allergy

I'm desperate: what should I cut out of my diet next?

My five week old DS is dairy/soy intolerant (mucous and microscopic blood), but has had a few really bad days lately.  In fact, he was better off weeks ago when it was more in my system.  I've been dairy/soy free for four weeks as of Wednesday.  I'm going wheat and egg free as of today and have avoided nuts anyway (DD has nut allergy).  Would you guess that would be the next best step?  Do you think fruit could be bothering him?  I had excessive amounts of fruit the last few days, but usually have quite a bit anyway.  TIA!

  • When you cut out dairy/soy, did you start eating something more of? I guess to substitute the dairy/soy intake..

my thought was eggs, but you already started doing that.  Maybe eliminate the top 8? and then in 4 weeks introduce one item every 2 weeks and see what happens.

  • I'll second the dr. sears suggestion.  his website is www.askdrsears.com.  He includes ideas of what you can eat and I found that to be helpful.  It will be much easier to figure out the triggers if you cut it all out and then add back in slowly.

  • Are you positive you are 100% dairy free?  When I started I thought I was then I started reading ALL labels and wasn't!  For example my peanut butter and bread both contained dairy.
