hiya! i think i might have chatted to you once before. i am in wellington, and i was wondering which woven wraps you recommend that i can get locally. i could get one when we go back to the states for a visit in october, but i'd like to support local NZ business if possible. not sure if it matters, but DS is probably 10kg at 4 months old. i currently have a moby which we both love, but he's getting a wee bit big for it, and a mei tai which he absolutely hates, not really sure why. the mei tai and baby bjorn are on their way to trademe
any advice would be great.
cheers,
kat

Hi Kat,
I haven't managed to find lots of local stockists of woven wraps, and have bought most of mine off TBW.
However there is a seller on trademe.co.nz who stocks hoppediz wraps. I really like hoppediz because they feel sturdy and snuggly, but i find them too hot in the summer. not sure how hot things get in Wellington. I haven't tried the "light" hoppediz so can't comment on that one.
Esther at keonislings https://keonislings.weebly.com/girasol-woven-wraps.html has a small range of Girasols. I love girasols and Esther is great to work with. She may be able to get other colourways in if you ask her.
This site https://www.mynaturalbaby.co.nz stocks storchenwiege. Which are another great quality wrap.
I also saw an Ulli Storch on trademe when I just had a look. I think the auction closes in a few hours.
https://www.slingbabies.co.nz is a good website for local info on babywearing.
Brand of wrap is really a personal preference. I have a hoppediz, vatanai, girasol, neobulle and ellaroo and love all of them for different reasons.
There is a babywearing group in Wellington. If you get along to one of their meetings, they will have good advice about the local climate and hopefully have some wraps that you can try out. Their facebook page is babywearing wellington.
Good luck with your search.
