Before I mention my latest thought to my DH who will think I am crazy..... DD2 is due in Nov and I don't really need anything since we have everything from DD1. I have a few pouches I made, a homemade jersey wrap, a 3m (I think) Vat, a linen and cotton ring sling (rings from ringsling.com with just material through rings, not sewed on for easy washing), a homemade Mai Tai, and an ergo that I loved once DD1 was 8-9 months and used until she wanted to walk everywhere this spring. I'll admit I don't NEED another carrier but someone mentioned a K'tan and I started looking and thinking that this might be really easy to use around the house nursing while running after a 2y/o and the dogs up and down the stairs..... Anyone love or hate their K'tan? Is it worth the $?? I don't know the measurements to try making my own but I'm sure I'll end up making another pouch just for this DD so she doesn't have all hand-me-downs. Thanks!
EDITED to add my ring slings. I loved them but once DD1 got a little bigger they really started to hurt my shoulder but plan to use for the first 6-9months again
Re: Do I need a K'tan?
If I were you, and I owned the carriers you listed, I think I would prefer a ring sling. I've lately carried a few friends tiny babies in my ring sling (newborn to like 5 months) and I SO wish I had it when DD was little. I prefer a RS to a pouch since I can tighten it up and keep baby upright tummy to tummy. I never felt comfortable with a pouch... obviously if you do, then thats cool too.
I liked my moby, and I will probably get some use out of it next time, but honestly I will probably stick mostly to the ringsling and then I also plan to actually buy some woven wraps. (Tried learning when DD was old enough to fight it and want to get down).
