I am so sorry you're going through this. If you aren't having any severe pain, going to the doctor would probably just be for your peace of mind and would be entirely up to you.
((hugs))
ETA: If it were me, I would go because I would want to know.

As a nurse, I would say yes, you should call your doc. They may want to rule out ectopic, and I know that even though my first betas during my m/c were really low (like 48 or something) they still wanted me to come in for re-draws until it was under 5. I am so, so sorry you are going thru this. Just give them a call, and let them decide.

Even after a D&C I had to have blood draws until under 5. I was going in twice a week. Sorry WIlis.
I went in before during my first m/c. I was a little further along for that one, though. Maybe I'll pick up some more tests tomorrow. If I get a +, I'll call.
If it were me, yes I would call. Specifically to insist on betas, because I cannot emotionally handle the waiting game and need to know what's going on. The beta waiting game sucks, but IMO not as much as the "am I miscarrying" waiting game.
Is it totally necessary? No. But if you are going crazy not knowing, the betas will give you a clear answer. I also always have the worry of ectopic pregnancy in my head, and want the numbers to give an indication of what I am dealing with.
Thanks for the advice, ladies. I hate to be such a post wh()re about this.
you're not being a post whore about this. I'm so sorry.
You were 4 wks 3 days, right? That early, it is really up to you how much you want to get the doc involved. Most likely you will not have much trouble passing it, so as long as you are not in severe pain you could just take a HPT in a week and make sure it's negative and if it's positive, you can call then.
But I know I would want to know for sure what my betas were and what they were doing, so I would probably go in for blood work.

I'm so sorry wils
I'd only call if I was still getting +'s on hpt's or they didn't seem like they were getting lighter. But you need to do whatever you feel will give you the most amount of reassurance or closure.

If this is a second or third m/c you really should call. I am not trying to make you worry more. There could be something else going on. It needs to be in your medical chart.

I agree. I know it sucks, and it is an awful thing to do, but please at least call.

Not stupid. I can tell you about my personal experience.
How are you bleeding? In my experience I passed everything fine. But I have known people who were not able to pass all of the tissue.
If you bleed for a prolonged period of time then you should call someone. But if you feel like you are passing everything fine, then I would wait.
Just going by my personal experience. I was in an excruciating amount of pain with the cramps and the bleeding was very heavy for a couple of days.
