I miss my beer!! I know it's a huge no no, but I was curious if anyone has a couple sips of alcohol here and there. Can you have some right after a feeding or should you avoid it at all costs?

You can have alcohol while breastfeeding. Right after a feeding is the best time., but it doesn't take long for it to be metabolized out of your system. To quote my LLL leader, if you're good to drive, you're good to breastfeed.
Your milk alcohol mirrors your blood alcohol. Your body eliminates it as it metabolizes the alcohol. If you're sober enough to drive, you're sober enough to nurse.
I don't consider drinking (obviously not in excess) to be a no-no. I plan on EBF'ing until she self-weans, so theoretically could be 2 years (+including having not drinking anything during my pregnancy) and I doubt highly I will go that whole time without a drink.
Once she is a couple months old, I will probably have an occasional drink.
When DS would eat every few hours in the evening, I would have a glass of wine, and if he wanted to nurse before two hours, I had DH give him a bottle, even though I felt no effects. Now, I have a glass or even two glasses one to 3 times a week. DS will nurse around 8 pm for his last feeding, and then not nurse again until 5 to 7am. By that point it is totally metabolized and out of your system, so I'm ok to nurse.
You will hear a few people say, "If you can drive, you can nurse." I'm a little more cautious than that, but it is common.
When I was pregnant my BFF told me what a great thing it was to have a glass of beer or wine and then BF--that LO would sleep really well. I was horrified. I swore I'd never do that. ... skip forward to a screaming 5 week old ... it works like a charm.
I usually have a glass of wine or a bottle of beer with dinner. Though I wasn't comfortable with a full beer until my kids were past a month or two (probably when they started going two hours between sessions?). I would still have half a drink with food then, though. Safe to drive, safe to breastfeed.

no, you didn't just say that you drink beer or wint to get your 5 week old drunk so they pass out? no you didn't say that did you?
a bit of alcohol is ok for a bit OLDER baby to metabolize. but in a newborn~couple month old baby, their liver can't metabolize any alcohol that passes thru to them very well, so it's best to be very careful until baby is a bit older.
Wow. Where did I say drunk? I said a glass. The quality of BM is correlated with the mother's BAL. The saying is, "If you can drive, you can BF". That's what most women go by.
Alcohol in Breast Milk Relates Directly to a Mother's Blood Alcohol Level
It is widely accepted that moderate drinking by the mother
(considered to be 1-2 alcoholic beverages) does not compromise the
quality of breast milk. Yet all drinks are not created equal. Two stiff
highballs contain significantly more alcohol than two cans of beer. It
is imperative for mothers to consider the alcohol content of their
favorite beverage before indulging. The more alcohol the mother
ingests, the more alcohol manifests in her breast milk and the longer
it takes to eliminate that alcohol from her system.

I hope I'm just reading this wrong. It sounds like you use alcohol to make LO sleep. ("...works like a charm") If that's the case, IMO that's just wrong. If I'm reading it wrong, well...
Re: alcohol & breastfeeding
I think I missed the memo that it's a huge no-no.
It's okay to have a beer. A whole delicious beer.
