Flathead question

Anyone's LO still have a flat head in the back?  DD's head is still significantly flat in the back and she is over 4 mos old.  At our 4 month appointment, the pediatrician didn't seem to be concerned.  Should I just assume it will shape out when she's sitting up on her own?  I try to keep her off her back as much as possible when we're at home but I'm sure she spends most of her time at daycare on her back.  TIA

Re: Flathead question

  • Yep.  DS is a back sleeper.  I can sometime prop him up on his side, but it's normally a big fail.  Our pedi wasn't concerned either.  It'll round out eventually esp when they start sitting up more on their own.

This. I try to keep her off her back as much as I can, holding her, wearing her, bumbo, tummy time, etc. Her pedi wasn't concerned at her last visit. She's got another visit in 2 weeks, and I'm hoping that he still isn't concerned. I'm nervous about it. I don't want her to have to wear a helmet. :(

  • The head is moldable until 18 months is what my pedi told me.  He told me to stop googling and get off WebMD.  DS's head will round out just fine.
