Ok, first... kuddos to you for running the whole thing. I don't know if it was because we went at 3 but it was more like the Warrior Crawl not the Warrior Dash. We pretty much had to walk half the time. That was ok with me because I got a cramp at the cars that wouldn't go away when I ran. I still keep going.
a) I got up the first wall and went back down... the way I went up. I could not muster up the guts to swing my leg around. Most of the people I was with told me I did it the hard way ( go figure ).
b) I tried the balance beam obstacle 3 times and could not get my balance. I don't know what my problem was but I finally went around it.
c) My knees are wrecked from the end. WTF! It was like going across mud slicked concrete. Ouch!
The cargo nets, the cars, and the fire were AWESOME! A guy we did it with, his wife was amazed at the fact that everybody who went over the fire could have cared less about it. I think it was the 1/4 mile of mud before that really made it seem easy. The mud at the end did me in. That was hands down the worst part of the day.
It was a blast and we were all talking about next year!
I am so ready for bed.
Re: ***Coribecca***
Yeah, it was a lot different at 8. I heard from someone else later that the first heat of the day is the one you want if you're going for time, because it gets more and more backed up the later you go. There were lines at some of the obstacles, but otherwise it was clear to run. I think the longest I waited at an obstacle was maybe 3-4 minutes at the wall.
It's funny that you didn't go down the back of the wall! You really did do it the hard way;). The lady in front of me looked down right after she swung her leg over and kind of freaked out, so I made it a point NOT to look down when it was my turn.
The mud at the end wasn't packed down at all during my heat. I hit my knee on a rock in the tunnel, but the real problem for me was my ankles. The ground was so uneven! My DH taped my ankles ahead of time, but they were still sore last night. They're ok today, though.
I'm so glad I did it:). My DH is going to run it with me next year. I'm so excited to do it again! Congrats on finishing! I'm pretty excited about my medal because I've never had one before:).
We are going to do it again next year too. It was a blast. I'm going to work on my balance and try to run a little bit more. Shane even suggested we do the Portland one.
My ankles hurt too. I was glad I stayed upright in the mud right before the finish. The end mud wasn't packed down but I could feel the tarp and the rocks on the concrete.
We are WARRIORS!! *High five*
